When trapping in the field:

-Rain will not affect my trapping plans. However, I will remain cautious about the weather to prioritize health and safety. Ensuring a safe working environment is essential. I am committed to taking appropriate precautions.

-Rat traps will be positioned in suitable dark spots within the forest, 50 meters apart. These traps are designed for a humane and quick kill. I will utilize GPS technology to provide you with valuable data on their effectiveness and placement.

-Stoat traps will be set up similarly to the rat traps, with each trap spaced 100 meters apart. This strategic placement will ensure effective monitoring and management of the stoat population. Together, we can work towards protecting our native wildlife.

-Possum traps will be thoughtfully installed on trees, drilled partially to ensure health is maintained. I will employ a quick and humane flippy Timms trap for immediate results. Furthermore, I aim to integrate sentinel traps in the future to enhance our pest management approach. Together, we can effectively control the possum population while safeguarding our environment.

When Monitoring in the field:

-I will implement monitoring equipment. Specifically, I will use possum chew cards. They will be placed strategically 20 meters apart and secured to trees with nails. These cards will be set in rich podocarp and beech forests for just overnight. On the second day, I will collect the chew cards. This allows us to identify pests and assess the possum population in the area. This data will help determine the number of traps needed. For best results, effective pest management will require no more than 10mm of rain overnight.

-I will be utilizing tracking tunnels equipped with ink cards to help identify the wildlife in your area. Each tunnel will have a peanut butter lure. It will be placed at the center of the ink card. The tunnels will be set up 50 meters apart for just one night. This method will allow us to capture footprints and gain valuable insights into the local pest population. With the data collected, I can determine the number of pests present. Then, I can plan the necessary traps for effective pest eradication.

-I am excited to help you plant native trees on your property to support environmental sustainability. Rejuvenating our forests is a passion of mine. I am committed to offering my assistance in planting trees efficiently. Together, we can create a healthier ecosystem and enhance the beauty of your landscape. Let’s work together to make a positive impact on our environment!

-I will use a 5-Minute bird count with field data notes to accurately identify the birds in your area. This vital information will inform my strategies for protecting our native wildlife for generations to come. Additionally, I will use the Artificial Intelligence 2040 bird cam. This is a cutting-edge tool. It will enhance our monitoring efforts significantly. It will also significantly improve our conservation efforts.

-The DOC AI Cam is a thermal camera and audio bird monitor. The thermal videos and audio recordings are uploaded to the cloud. They are analyzed using machine recognition algorithms to identify predators and birds automatically. It is also the most sensitive way to detect pests at low densities. See video to see what It can pick up on.

-The goal of monitoring results is to ensure there is no identification of targeted pests on your property. This outcome reflects effective pest management and contributes to a healthier environment. I can achieve this aim and maintain the integrity your land.

I have over five years of experience in field pest control work. This extensive background has equipped me with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage pest populations. I am committed to delivering results and contributing to the health of our environment.
